They say it’s a game of two halves – of course we don’t mean traffic management – we’re talking about the beautiful game.

As proud team sponsors, NTS staff swapped their hi-vis for football shirts to watch the Holy Blues on the edge of their seats.

Despite finishing nine points ahead of last season’s result, this season’s 46 points was not enough for Trinity to escape relegation as they finished in the bottom three of the league.

However all was not lost. Trinity ended the season on a high with a 3-0 win against Tamworth, they secured a fantastic victory on penalties in the County Cup final and they played the first round of the FA Cup.

All eyes are on the next season for the club, which celebrates a 145 year history. Following a summer of pre-season fixtures, Trinity look forward to kicking off the 18/19 season in the Evo-Stick Premier League. The team will play under newly announced skipper Liam King, with Shane Clarke continuing as vice captain.

Richard Goodall, NTS director, said: “It has been a pleasure to sponsor Gainsborough Trinity this season and we have been watching closely. As a traffic management company based near Gainsborough we are proud to show our support for the local football side. We wish them all the best for next season.”

Richard Kane, Gainsborough Trinity FC Chairman, said: “We have had a topsy turvy season this season managing to win the County Cup Final against Boston on penalties and getting into the first round of the FA Cup. However even though we managed to finish the league with a total of 46 points – nine more than what we finished on last season – we finished in the bottom three which sees us competing in the Evo-Stick Premier league next season.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]For more information on the team visit http://www.gainsboroughtrinity.com/[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
