Teamwork certainly made ‘the dream work’ when we supplied temporary traffic management at a ‘spectacular’ 3 day event in Liverpool!
We delivered a wide range of traffic management solutions at the Giant Spectacular Liverpool’s Dream in October 2018.
Hosted by the Royal De Luxe, the world’s leading street theatre company, three ‘giant’ marionettes toured through Liverpool, Wirral and New Brighton in a dramatic production.
Nationwide Traffic Solutions won the contract to supply traffic management in the city centre.
Across a mammoth route spanning 20+ miles, we installed a series of complex traffic management schemes.
It was all hands on deck as we deployed our full bank of operatives, utilised all vehicles and IPVs, plus extended our resources to meet the contract, including signage, fencing and barriers.
Communication via radios ensured each phase of TM was installed on schedule.
Residents and businesses in the surrounding areas were informed about the event via a letter drop and advance warning signage delivered before the event.
At the end of each day signage was removed from site, with a full removal of all sandbags, signage and frames post-event.
As always our works were in line with Chapter 8 Traffic Manual, NHSS 12AB and 12D.
Kyle Moy, Project Manager, said: “We worked closely with the events team in order to make sure the operation stayed on schedule. The works took place in phases to reduce the impact to the public. We attended regular pro forma meetings to go over all the finer details. This worked very well.
“The job was one of the biggest we have worked on and we have priced up a number of jobs following its success.”
Commissioned by Liverpool City Council, the event was awarded Eventex Best Event Destination, Best UK Event and the Grand Prix People’s Choice Event, plus Best Visual Spectacular 2018.
