Nationwide Traffic Solutions welcomed an extra special visitor to Head Office this week to learn all about the world of traffic management!
Sam Johnson, a Year 10 pupil at Queen Elizabeth High School, Gainsborough, joined the team on a work experience placement this week.
After a brief tour of the depot in Kirton Lindsey, Lincolnshire, and meeting the team, Sam was given an insight into the world of traffic management plan design.
Working alongside CAD technician Sam Piatt, Sam was shown the ropes when it comes to plotting traffic management using the most up to date version of CAD software. Sam received training on how all TM drawings are produced in line with Chapter 8 Traffic Manual regulations and plotted using accurate, to scale maps.
The 15-year-old has a keen interest in IT and one day hopes to pursue a career in computer design.
Sam said: “I am enjoying the placement so far. I had never come across traffic management before but I would consider working in the industry in the future, particularly in TM plan production.”
